Population  25 (2000 census). US Census (2000) counts those who use the language in the home. All were Northern Foothill Yokuts speakers. Ethnic population: 2,500 (2000 A. Yamamoto).

Dialects  Northern Foothill Yokuts, Southern Foothill Yokuts, Valley Yokuts. Many subvarieties.

Language use  Shifting to English. Southern Foothill and Valley Yokuts are extinct. Chukchansi (Northern Foothill Yokuts) trying to start language programs. Tachi (Valley Yokuts) has Headstart language program.
